ILLC expresses its sincerest gratitude to Ms. Joan Yao and Ms. Liza Bate for their generosity in donating useful educational toys and materials to ILLC. Moreover,
Ms. Yao and Ms. Bate also donated shoes to help children from less privileged children in Mandaluyong City and in the Provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.
On November 29, 2016, ILLC TEP students, teachers, parents and caregivers excitedly loaded up buses to join the most awaited Tagaytay Educational Trip. The Galinco Factory, home of the well-loved Chips Delight Cookies, welcomed ILLC inside their factory to let everybody get a sneak peak on how the yummy treats are made. Also, students were given a chance to experience personalizing and decorating cookies. Parents and caregivers also had the time to shop for Galinco products for the students’ baon and snacks. The next destination, ParadiZoo, gave everybody a taste of nature as everyone interacted with different kinds of animals paired with a breathtaking view of the vast farm. A worthwhile trek gave everybody time to appreciate everything the place had to offer. The Tagaytay Skyranch brought out the child in all those who were present. Excitement, happiness and fun poured out as everyone enjoyed the rides and the time spent with friends and family.
On November 28, 2016, the students from the Modified Basic Education took a break from studying within the four walls of the classroom to learn different road signs, common places in the community, and how to cross the street at the MMDA Children’s Road and Safety Park. The students were able to try crossing the street via a footbridge and an underground tunnel. Afterwards, the children roamed Manila's premier indoor play city, KidZania! Students had the chance to explore different occupations and showcase their talents in the different establishments around KidZania. The students of MBE were busy falling in line, but one can truly see the smiles on their faces especially when it was their turn to experience what the said establishment has to offer. The fieldtrip was a success and everybody had fun displaying their newly-discovered talents.
Before the 2nd semester officially started, the MBE students enjoyed a day full of treats. On November 7, 2016, our adorable students dressed up as beautiful princesses, mighty superheroes and movie-inspired characters. Students of Classes Marigold, Orchid, Sunflower, Tulip, Carnation, Violet, Lily, Daisy and Rose traipsed around the different classrooms and the other parts of the school with smiles on their faces while saying, “Trick or Treat!” to gather those precious treats and have some spooky fun. After collecting treats, each class flashed their beautiful smiles and wacky reactions in Halloween-inspired photowalls located in different areas within the school. This simple trick or treat activity promoted social interaction among our beloved students while sharing treats and enjoying one another’s company.
The school had an exciting and vibrant United Nations Day, with the theme “ILLC: A World Tour of Taste.” The event was filled with excitement as the students
showcased their vibrant costumes from different nations. Greece, USA, Spain, USA-Hawaii, Mexico, France, South Korea, Belgium, United Kingdom, Japan, and India were some of the countries represented during the event. Everyone looked spectacular and ready for the day’s performances, too.
There is a saying that real heroes don’t wear capes – they teach. Teachers have created a special part and impact in the lives of their students. For this reason, ILLC prepared a mini celebration last October 7, 2016 to commemorate World Teachers’ Day. In the morning, the students gave sweets and treats to their teachers as a sign of their love and gratitude.
